WHAT CAN I
DO?
1. JOIN THE COALITION FOR PRESERVING OUR
WESTERN HERITAGE & OPEN SPACE
Click here for information about our new
Coalition. If you would
like to support the coalition by adding your business, email us at
pfpowh@gmail.com with your business
name, individual name, mailing address, phone and email address.
2. TALK
TO FOLKS
Tell people about this website. Email
a link to the website to your friends.
Tell people you know about the issues
involved with Wilderness designations on public lands and the impact it
will have on property rights, ranchers, recreationalists and law
enforcement officials.
Let people know that there are many
other options besides a congressional designation of Wilderness that can
be used to protect sensitive areas of our county from development, while
still allowing ranchers to continue their operations and
recreationalists to enjoy the land.
3. CONTACT OFFICIALS INVOLVED IN THE PROCESS
Please don't underestimate the
value of an email, letter or phone call.
Communicating with your elected officials
is CRITICAL. Many organizations have been effective at influencing
the process by simply speaking up and making their opinions known.
We must follow their example to succeed.
Contact the legislators involved and let them know
you support private property rights and keeping our public lands open for
ranching and access by the public. Let them know you support the
proposed Rangeland Preservation Area and Special Protection Area
legislation as a tool to protect and preserve our public lands
FOR the public instead of
FROM the public.
See our
Letter Writing Toolkit for
information and ideas on key issues.
